What touches her skin
Entirely S316L Surgical Steel throughout: post, butterfly back, and ball. No coatings, no mixed metals, no lower-grade alloy at the base. S316L is a low-carbon surgical grade used for prolonged skin contact on sensitive and young ears. It contains nickel, as almost all surgical steels do, and resists corrosion, which is what keeps that nickel locked in the alloy. Nickel release measured under EN 1811 by SGS: not detected.
The design
A clean, round 4mm sphere. No stone, no setting, nothing to think about. The 4mm scale is right for young ears, present without being heavy, and it works with everything she wears.
Third-party tested
Every purepixxi earring is tested to ASTM F2923 (the US children's jewelry safety standard) and EN 1811 (the European nickel release standard). Nickel release: not detected.
