The post has a precision notch that the Butterfly Back clicks into and holds against. It will not loosen gradually the way standard butterfly backs do. The scroll-style butterfly is shaped to give the exact amount of skin contact for comfort and cleanability, while keeping the back secure through swimming, PE, and sleep. It releases with deliberate pressure, which means it stays on when it should and comes off when you want it to.
purepixxi earrings are designed for fully healed piercings. Most piercings require six to eight weeks to heal on the surface, though full healing takes longer. We recommend consulting your piercer before switching earrings. Once healed, Surgical Steel is among the most biocompatible materials available and is well-suited to sensitive young skin.
Warm water and a small amount of mild soap is all you need. The Surgical Steel surface is non-porous, so bacteria do not cling to it the way they do to porous or plated surfaces. Pat dry after cleaning. Weekly cleaning is sufficient for everyday wear.
